The District Leo Club Chairman provides the District Governor a liaison with Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs within District 1D. The District Leo Club Chairman is available to aid District 1D Lions Clubs in starting Leo Clubs and to offer existing Leo Clubs ideas on operating a club.
District 1D has five active Leo Clubs. They are listed alphabetically below:
- Community Catholic Middle School (Sterling)
- Dixon High School Leo Club
- Dixon St. Mary's Leo Club
- Forreston
- Prophetstown
Two suggested goals for these five Leo Clubs are:
- Submit quarterly activity reports to:
The International Association of Lions Clubs
Youth Programs Department
300 22nd Street
Oak Brook, Illinois 60523-8842Copying these reports to the District Governor, District Leo Club Chairman, their sponsoring Lions Club, and any associated school will get the word out on what activities are being pursued to follow the Lions Club motto, "We Serve".
- Suggest that the Leo Clubs work with their sponsoring Lions Club to follow Lions Clubs International President Wing-Kun Tam's goal of "planting a million trees around the world". Planting a tree or trees in your community can provide a growing lasting reminder to the Leo Club members of their time and activities in the Leo Club; provide a project to bring the Lions Club and their Leo Club closer together; and provide for the visability of Lions and Leos in their community.
